Summer English Learner Programs
We proudly offer several programs for scholars who want to focus on their English language skills.
Registration: Eligibility will be determined by the EL department and letters will be sent to caregivers inviting their scholar to programming.

Monday - Thursday | 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Southwest Academia Bilingüe scholars (K-6) will have the opportunity to attend summer school designed to help with ELA and math in both English and Spanish. Hosted at Burton Elementary.
Newcomers Summer School
Newcomers Summer School
June 17 - July 25, 2024
Monday - Thursday | 7:30 AM - 12:45 PM
Scholars aged 15 and older who are newly arrived in the United States will continue to work on reading, writing, math, and language acquisition and to work on second-semester credit-earning classes. The programming is held at Southwest Middle High School. Bus passes will be available.

Monday - Thursday | 12:30 PM - 3:00 PM
EL scholars K-8 requiring additional targeted language, literacy and math support will attend regular morning programming and then the EL extension from 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm.

Migrant scholars K-8 will attend Migrant Summer School from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Hosted at Burton Elementary.
