Building Use Information


The Facilities and Operations Department provides building use opportunities to the community after school hours. Our school buildings are home to numerous after school activities for youth and evening and weekend activities for the Grand Rapids community and surrounding areas.

If you are interested in renting a classroom, gymnasium or auditorium, please take time to read the following steps regarding the building use application process.

  1. Please review the building use application, guidelines, rules and regulations and fee schedule.
  2. An application for building use must be submitted at least 10 business days in advance of your event.
  3. Fill out the Building Use Application completely and include estimated fees. The fee schedule is listed below.
  4. Return the completed Building Use Application by one of the following methods- a) Fax to 616-819-3014 b) Mail to the Service Building, 900 Union NE Grand Rapids MI 49503 c) Hand deliver to the above address or d) Scan and email form to This email address is being protected from spambots.   5. The GRPS Operations Department will check the availability of the selected dates.
  6. The GRPS Operations Department will verify fees.
  7. The GRPS Operations Department will contact the applicant to a) Discuss changes in schedule or fees b) Confirm application as submitted c) Deny the application
  8. A hard copy of your approved application is available upon request.
  9. An invoice will be mailed out by the GRPS Business Office after the event.
  10. Additional fees may be applied after event as listed in the rules and regulations.
  11. Payment for Building Use is due 30 days upon receipt.
