As we return from winter break, our state is seeing an increase in influenza (flu) cases. Influenza is a contagious respiratory virus that tends to spread between October and May. Most individuals with the flu get better on their own, but sometimes influenza can lead to further complications. You can help to stop the spread.
When to Stay Home
Scholars and staff should stay home if they are experiencing flu-like symptoms. Individuals should remain home until:

Please contact your healthcare provider, or the Kent County Health Department at (616)-632-7228, if symptoms are severe or worsening, or if you have additional questions. Your healthcare provider can also advise whether antiviral medication may be appropriate.
