The Board is committed to cooperating with the Kent Intermediate School District ("ISD") in special programs and services. The Superintendent will assume the responsibility of evaluating the various programs and services provided, alerting the Board to such services and recommending to the Board participation in various services and programs. The Board will appoint annually a member to attend the budget hearing of the ISD. The Board will, prior to the budget hearing on the ISD's budget, secure copies of the budget, review and discuss the budget, and give directions to its representative. Such review and discussion will be an agenda item at a regular or special meeting of the Board prior to the budget hearing.
The Board will also appoint one member as a representative to cast a vote in the biennial ISD election. The representative will cast his/her vote(s) according to the will and direction of the majority of the Board. In the event, however, there are three tie votes in an attempt to elect a member(s) of the ISD Board, the Board's representative will be free to cast their vote for any candidate of their choosing.
