GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) -- Grand Rapids Public Schools is proud to celebrate the Class of 2026 as graduates take their next steps toward bright and promising futures.

Graduates were honored during nine commencement ceremonies. During commencement ceremonies, Superintendent Dr. Leadriane Roby reminded scholars of the unique strengths they developed during their time at GRPS.

"You learned alongside classmates from different cultures, backgrounds, languages, and life experiences," Dr. Roby said. "That is a strength and a gift. And in today’s world, it is a superpower. Lean into it. Use it to build bridges. Use it to lead with empathy. Use it to help change the world for the better."

Among this year’s accomplishments, 103 graduates earned the State of Michigan Seal of Biliteracy, demonstrating high levels of proficiency in two or more languages.
