The Academy of Media Production (AOMP) at Ottawa Hills High School provides scholars with a deep dive into the exciting music production industry. With a state-of the-art lab that includes scholar stations equipped with industry standard equipment and software, scholars will be immersed in college-level coursework that prepares them to produce album-quality music. Scholars will take their production experience and learn about the business side of the industry, preparing them for exciting careers in this growing industry. The skills that scholars develop will apply whether they want to create or produce music, podcasts, or other media production with exciting careers waiting for them across the country.
REAL-WORLD, CAREER-BUILDING APPLICATIONS
- Classroom: Scholars will take 1 yearlong course per year for up to 3 years
- Lab Space: A state-of-the-art music production lab with industry-standard equipment and sound-proof performance rooms, instruments, and computer software.
- Dual Enrollment: 4th year AOMP scholars will have the option to take college-level coursework in with post-secondary partners like Grand Rapids Community College and Ferris State University
- Hands on Learning: Scholars will spend most of their time actively using equipment and computer software

Scheduling Recommendations and Information
- Seniors must first schedule all remaining graduation requirements prior to taking part in elective or academy courses.
- Scholars must begin with the Music Production & Entrepreneurship course. The order of courses taken after year 1 may change depending on staffing and availability.
- Dual Enrollment and Work-based learning must be approved by the student's assigned school counselor
- All AOMP courses satisfy the state requirement for Visual, Performing, or Applied art
