GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) -- During Attendance Awareness Month, all GRPS schools took on The Gold Standard, a September challenge to see which school could grow scholar attendance the most.
Congratulations to our September winners: Grand Rapids Montessori Middle High School. Scholars improved attendance at Grand Rapids Montessori Middle High School by 15.5 percentage points from September 2025.
“The Montessori staff make every scholar feel noticed, welcomed, and glad to be there every day, and their data reflects that,” said Matt Kaindl, Title 1 Instructional Facilitator. “Principal Kerri Reed and the whole Montessori team deserve credit!”
Thanks to our partnership with the Grand Rapids Gold, scholars at Grand Rapids Montessori Middle High will celebrate with a special visit from the Gold this month and will attend the School Day Game at no cost on March 2.
The challenge isn't over. Because so many buildings put in great work, The Gold Standard Challenge will continue every month through December! Every school is still in it, and every school has a fresh chance to grow!
“To every school that took part, the work you put in this month will keep paying off all year. Every day adds up, and we're proud of each building,” added Kaindl. “Thank you for helping our scholars be here, be part of it, and go Gold!”
