The Special Education Department provides programs and services for scholars with disabilities per the Individualized Education Program (IEP). Instruction will be provided along the special education continuum. Supplemental aids and services may be provided per their IEP in order to allow the scholar to access to the general education curriculum.
All courses that earn credit towards graduation follow the Michigan Merit Curriculum and sequence with appropriate modifications and accommodations per the scholar’s IEP or personal curriculum.
Per scholar's IEP, some scholars receive an alternative curriculum leading to a certificate of completion in lieu of a high school diploma. The determination as to whether or not a scholar will work towards a diploma or a certificate of completion is made at the IEP team meeting.
