GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) – For fourth-grade scholars at CA Frost Environmental Science Academy, the trip to Camp Henry is a cherished tradition - an opportunity to bring classroom learning to life in the natural world.
“It’s really important for kids to get out of their town and investigate kind of a new territory, a new environment,” explained Amy Paul, the E Lab Teacher at CA Frost. “When they’re outside, they’re creating their own observations.”
Over the two-day experience, scholars participated in archery, horseback riding, the giant swing, and a variety of other outdoor activities designed to build teamwork and curiosity.
“I think it gives your mind like a little reset, a little fun time to get your wiggles out and just a time to relax and be at camp,” said Lucy, a CA Frost scholar.
“You’re always learning new things, even if it’s outside playing,” added Fiona.
