GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) -- For nearly four decades, Mary Kuiper has been a dedicated educator at Grand Rapids Public Schools. Her passion is driven by her scholars, who inspire her every day.
"My reason for coming to work every day is my students," Kuiper shared. "I hope I’m a stable and loving person in their lives. But honestly, they give me way more than I give them."
Kuiper is the Resource Room Teacher at Aberdeen Academy. She chooses to work at GRPS because she firmly believes that every child in Grand Rapids deserves a teacher who wants the best for them.
“I hope I have made every child feel safe and cared for while helping them grow into an adult that will be successful,” Kuiper said.
Her impact extends far beyond academics. She provides consistency, encouragement, and a nurturing environment where scholars can thrive. With a heart for her scholars and a commitment to their success, she is a true GRPS Champion.
