Continuous Behavior

Consistent occurrences of the same type(s) of behaviors. These behaviors occur over a period of time and are tracked through documentation. 

Disruptive Behavior 

Intentionally interfering with the learning environment to the extent that it significantly impacts the learning of other students or the routine functioning of the school. 

Fighting

Mutual participation in an incident involving physical violence or assault (e.g., slapping, pulling hair, punching, kicking, biting, etc). 

Insubordination 

The continual refusal to follow the reasonable and established rules, directives, or instructions given by teachers, administrators, or other school staff. 

Physical Aggression

Confrontational posturing and gesturing toward another with the intent to cause harm. These behaviors include, but are not limited to pushing/shoving, intentionally bumping into another person, or making gestures that are violent and confrontational in nature.

Physical Assault 

Causing or attempting to cause physical harm through force or violence to another without the initiation or involvement of the receiving person. 

Verbal Assault

A verbal statement directed toward another that is abusive, hostile, or harassing in nature. 

Verbal Threat 

A verbal statement directed toward another that communicates the intent to cause physical, emotional, or mental harm to another through violence.
