LANSING, Mich. (GRPS) – City High Middle School was honored during the November State Board of Education meeting as one of 16 Michigan schools being recognized as Blue Ribbon Schools.

“It's extremely exciting to feature our scholars and staff and the work they put in every day,” said City High Middle School Principal Charlotte 'Charlie' Vandervliet. “Our teaching staff is absolutely amazing. They're willing to put in the hours to work with scholars to differentiate, to make sure scholars are supported.”

Vandervliet was joined at the State Board of Education meeting by Superintendent Dr. Leadriane Roby, Assistant Principal Christie Modzeleski, Board of Education President Kymberlie Buczek, and Board of Education Vice President Aarie Wade.

“This honor is a direct reflection of the dedication our scholars and staff demonstrate every single day," said GRPS Superintendent Dr. Leadriane Roby. "Their hard work and commitment to growth make achievements like this possible. We are thrilled to be recognized with such a prestigious award, and it inspires us to continue striving for excellence.”

City High Middle School was previously recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School in 2019.
