GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) -- The community is invited to tour the new home of Southeast Career Pathways before it opens for the 2025-26 school year.
A grand opening celebration will be Wednesday, August 6, at 1250 Sigsbee Street SE. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 4:30 pm, followed by an open house from 4:45-6 pm.
The $7 million renovation converted the former Sigsbee Elementary School into a vibrant high school environment filled with natural light, thanks to the installation of larger windows throughout learning spaces.
“We are thrilled to welcome scholars into this renovated space,” said Alex Smart, Executive Director of Facilities & Operations. “What was once a dark building will now be bright, filled with daylight and upgraded lighting.”
The project also features a new safe and secure entrance, scholar commons area, updated flooring and paint, refreshed gymnasium, and a new HVAC system.
