GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) -- A graduating senior from City High Middle School has been selected as a semifinalist by the Commission on U.S. Presidential Scholars of the U.S. Department of Education for the prestigious 2026 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program.
Krishna D. Mano is one of just 19 semifinalists from Michigan. Nationwide, the U.S. Department of Education will choose 161 scholarship winners for the highly selective program, which recognizes some of the most distinguished and accomplished graduating high school seniors in the country.
“I am truly honored to be named a semifinalist for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program,” Mano said. “I am deeply grateful to City High Middle School and GRPS for opening so many academic and extracurricular doors for me over the past six years. The support I have received from the teachers and faculty at City have made my high school experience so memorable and formative.”
Mano plans to attend Harvard University to study history and government.
