GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) -- A proud GRPS alumna, JoCara Coleman returned to the district as Burton Middle School’s In-House Specialist, eager to give back to the community where she grew up.
“What I enjoy the most about my job is the interactions I get to have with the students and being able to watch them grow and succeed,” Coleman shared. Her role allows her to support scholars in ways that go beyond academics, helping them build confidence and envision a bright future.
“I chose to work for GRPS because I saw it as an opportunity to support youth in the community that I am from,” she explained.
Every day, Coleman strives to make a meaningful impact.
“The impact I feel that I make in my role is showing kids that they can be and do anything they set their minds to,” she said.
Coleman exemplifies the spirit of a GRPS Champion, inspiring scholars to believe in themselves and their potential, just as she did when she was a student at GRPS.
