GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) — The Grand Rapids Public Schools Board of Education voted to renew Dr. Leadriane Roby’s contract for an additional three years

Superintendent Roby joined the district in 2020. Her contract was set to expire in June of 2023.

The renewal vote extends Dr. Roby’s agreement with GRPS  through June of 2026.

Those in attendance at the meeting applauded after the all board members present voted in support of the renewal.

GRPS School Board President Raynard Ross said the extension represents a “vote of confidence” in Dr. Roby’s leadership.

Board members recognized Dr. Roby’s commitment through the COVID-19 pandemic as she lead the district through times of difficulty and uncertainty.

Dr. Roby remarked that she has enjoyed her time in Grand Rapids and has no regrets about the decision to join GRPS.
