GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) — Grand Rapids Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Leadriane Roby has been named one of Grand Rapids' most influential leaders by Crain’s Grand Rapids Business.
“Roby is an experienced and reflective educator with more than 25 years in public education,” the Crain’s article reads. “Roby’s leadership has affected classrooms, communities, and cultures in urban and suburban districts alike. She has led school performance turnarounds, implemented new strategic planning practices, and promoted safe and respectful learning environments during her career.”
Dr. Roby is now in her fourth year leading Grand Rapids Public Schools. She led the district through the creation of its Strategic Plan.
As part of that work, she is now leading the community-engaged creation of the "Reimagine GRPS with Us!" plan, which aims to realign district resources and reinvest in the educational experience of all children.
Grand Rapids Board of Education Trustee Jen Schottke was also named to the list for her leadership in the Construction and Design field.
