Professional Learning Course Status
Professional Learning (PL) courses are automatically added to an individual's KALPA Professional Learning Plan upon registration.
Course Status Definitions
- Registered: Registration for the course has been completed.
- Update: Attendance or course completion is pending validation by the course facilitator.
- Taken: Attendance and successful course completion have been verified, and professional learning credit has been awarded.
Important: Courses eligible for State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs) must be marked as Taken in KALPA before they can be included in the monthly upload to the Michigan Online Educator Certification System (MOECS).
MOECS and SCECH Information
An active Michigan Online Educator Certification System (MOECS) account is required to monitor SCECHs, manage educator certification, and complete certification renewal requirements.
Following the monthly MOECS upload, the course date and total number of professional learning hours recorded in KALPA should match the information reflected in the MOECS account. Any discrepancies should be reported to the PL Office for review.
