The Board recognizes that the first-hand learning experiences provided by field trips are an effective and worthwhile means of learning.
All trips to foreign countries must be approved in advance by the Superintendent who will advise the Board of any such trips planned. The Superintendent’s approval shall take into account any foreign travel warnings or cautions of the U. S. Department of State. In addition, before granting any approval for foreign travel, the Superintendent shall seek advice concerning foreign travel from the District’s legal counsel and insurance carrier. The Superintendent shall develop rules and regulations regarding educational field trips and excursions.
