The Board, other than for illness or other reasons specifically referenced in Board policy, discourages any absence by any student, K-12 or pre-primary, from school. All absences shall be either excused or unexcused.
Rules and regulations that conform to applicable federal or state laws and administrative rules regarding student absences shall be developed by the administrative staff and reviewed by the Board. Those rules will be incorporated into the appropriate staff and student handbooks. Where student handbooks are not available for a particular program, the administration shall ensure that appropriate written notice of the absence rules for that program is provided to parents/guardians.
