GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) -- The Union Redhawks varsity boys basketball team continues its resurgence this season, already surpassing its combined win total from the previous two years with more than half of the schedule still remaining. Head Coach Theron Brown’s philosophy of incremental improvement throughout the season is clearly paying off for the Redhawks, who continue to take tangible steps forward with each game.

That progress was on full display Tuesday, January 13, when Union earned a hard-fought 55–51 victory over conference opponent Thornapple Kellogg. The win marked the Redhawks’ first conference victory in three seasons and served as another sign of the program’s upward trajectory.

Hajile Taylor led the way with 16 points and four rebounds, while Parker Bitson added 15 points and five rebounds. Isaiah Jones also made a strong impact, contributing 13 points and seven rebounds as the Redhawks played well on both ends of the floor.

With confidence growing and steady progress showing every game, the Redhawks are proving that this season represents a meaningful turning point for the program.

Union will be back in action on Friday, January 16, when they visit South Christian.
