The following message was shared with GRPS Families & Staff on Dec. 19, 2025.
Dear GRPS Families & Staff,
As we enter the holiday season, this is a perfect time to celebrate our accomplishments, connect with loved ones, and reflect on the bright moments of the year.
I also know this time can be challenging for many in our community. The pressures of the season can weigh heavily, and it’s important to remember that you are not alone.
It is vital for us to lean on one another and celebrate the support that makes our community strong. Together, we create a network that helps everyone navigate the holidays with a little more comfort and hope.
For those in need, here are three helpful resources to connect you with local support:
- Michigan 211 Resource Database
- Kent County Pantry Resource Center Locations
- Feeding America Food Pantry Search
Even during difficult times, 2025 has been a year of milestones for our GRPS community. From celebrating our scholars to advancing our Reimagine GRPS initiatives, we continue to make progress toward becoming a world-class school district for every child in our city. I invite you to watch our final Reimagine Vlog of the year to reflect on these moments.
I hope you find time to make a few more special memories over winter break. We look forward to welcoming you back to class on Monday, January 5, 2026.
Happy Holidays!
Leadriane Roby, Ph.D.
Superintendent
