GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) — In the latest ‘Reimagine’ Vlog, Grand Rapids Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Leadriane Roby highlights the Grand Canoe Experience, Teacher Appreciation Week, and the 5 year anniversary of the Grand Rapids Promise Zone Scholarship.
GRPS 8th-graders spent time this week at the Grand Canoe Experience. Scholars spent time paddling at Riverside Park and on the Grand River. This educational experience is possible thanks to our partners at the City of Grand Rapids Parks & Recreation Department.
We are also celebrating all of our incredible staff this week during National Teacher Appreciation Week! The Grand Rapids Public Schools Foundation helped organize cake deliveries to all GRPS schools and departments this week. We also shared a fun video of scholars thanking Team GRPS.
This year, the Grand Rapids Promise Zone scholarship turns 5 years old. Every child who lives in Grand Rapids and graduates from high school in the city is eligible for free college at Grand Rapids Community College through the Promise Zone. You can learn more at grpromisezone.com.
