GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) - The Union Redhawks boys soccer team proved they belonged among the best in the highly competitive OK Gold Division this season. Entering the year with high expectations, the Redhawks rose to the occasion—battling through a challenging schedule to finish second in the league with an impressive 7-2-3 record.

That success didn’t go unnoticed, as six Redhawks earned OK Gold recognition for their outstanding performances throughout the season.

All Conference First Team:

  • Ousmane Fofana, 12th grade
  • Eli Hajjar, 12th grade
  • Carlos Meneses-Martinez, 11th grade
  • Espoir Mwenyi, 9th grade

All Conference Honorable Mention:

  • Eric Bedolla Jimenez, 12th grade
  • Chris Rodas-Rodriguez, 12th grade

Finishing as the runner-up in conference play marks a tremendous accomplishment for the Redhawks and highlights the impact of their six OK Gold honorees. Union will graduate several key contributors—including the four seniors recognized among this year’s conference selections—but the program’s future remains bright. With standout underclassmen Mwenyi and Meneses-Martinez expected to return, Union is well-positioned to build on this season’s momentum and make another strong push in the OK Gold next year.
