GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) – The final countdown is on to the 32nd annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning in downtown Grand Rapids.
This year's run is Thursday, November 28. The Mini Trot starts at 8:10 a.m. followed by the 5K at 8:30 a.m. All race proceeds contribute to the mission of promoting healthy lifestyles and ensuring access to athletics for all GRPS scholars.
"Students participating in sports develop and perform better in almost every possible way," GRPS Superintendent Dr. Leadriane Roby said. "Proof is in their grades, higher scores, and the ability to connect with one another in very meaningful ways. In fact, events like Turkey Trot help our athletes develop and become leaders right here in our community."
The 2023 race raised more than $100,000 for GRPS athletics.
This year marks Blue Care Network of Michigan’s tenth year as the presenting sponsor of the Turkey Trot. LMCU is sponsoring the Mini Trot for kids for the third year in a row.
