Union celebrates winter all-conference athletes

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) -- The Union Redhawks are proud to announce their winter 2025-26 All-Conference selections. Competing in the OK Gold Conference in all winter sports except swimming, which is in the OK Rainbow East Division, Union athletes made strong impressions throughout the season in basketball, boys’ bowling, and boys’ swim and dive.

All-Conference First Team:

• Justin Hilliard (12th grade, CA Frost) – Boys Bowling
• Kingston Jones (11th grade, CA Frost) – Boys Bowling
• Jax Schottke (9th grade, City) – Boys Swim & Dive

All-Conference Honorable Mention:

• Parker Bitson (11th grade, CA Frost) – Boys Basketball
• Zyreair Craig (12th grade, Union) – Girls Basketball
• Asiyah Green (12th grade, Union) – Girls Basketball

Union freshman Jax Schottke took first place in the diving competition at the OK Rainbow East Conference Championship, earning All-Conference honors and qualifying for the MHSAA Division 1 regional meet. Schottke finished 17th at regionals, an impressive result for his first high school season.

In bowling, Kingston Jones placed 11th at the Division 1 regional meet, narrowly missing a state finals berth, as only the top seven advance. Justin Hilliard finished 23rd at regionals. The Redhawks boys’ bowling team also had a strong postseason, finishing third in the conference standings and placing among the top eight teams at regionals.
