KALAMAZOO, Mich. (GRPS) -- The College of Education and Human Development at Western Michigan University has honored GRPS Superintendent Dr. Leadriane Roby with a Golden Apple Award.

Dr. Roby received her Ph.D. from Western Michigan University in 2012.

"As I reflect on my time at Western, what stands out most are the relationships that shaped my journey—especially the friendships I built with other incredible women who, like me, were juggling family, work, and school," Dr. Roby said. "The teachers and leaders this institution prepares are changing lives, shaping futures, and inspiring the next generation to reach their fullest potential. I’m honored to be part of that legacy."

Dr. Roby was honored during the 26th Annual College of Education and Human Development Alumni Awards on Oct. 25 at Western Michigan University.

“Our alumni are a testament to the success and impact of WMU’s College of Education and Human Development. Not only do we celebrate our alumni as a recognition of their personal achievements, but as a reminder to our current and future students to strive for their own greatness," said Dr. Laura Dinehart, dean of the College of Education and Human Development.
