Welcome to Union High School (9-12)

Greetings from Union High School!  My name is Aaron Roussey and I have the absolute pleasure of being the Principal at Union High School.  Our vision is to develop confident, accountable, and responsible lifelong learners who are college and career ready.

Our staff are committed to scholars success, regardless of race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, gender, sexual orientation, or religion. Our goal is to ensure that all scholars feel included, valued, supported and safe. Our diverse scholar population is rich with bilingual and English learners who are supported through our Newcomers program, cultural center services, and bilingual staff.

We understand that equitable education and compassion are the cornerstone to any successful institution, and we are committed to bringing that to our scholars and community every day.

We are The U!

At Union High School, our newly modernized building is a hidden gem on the west side of Grand Rapids. It features updated classroom technology, secure entrances, a wonderfully caring staff, and a massive athletic wing. We are also surrounded by sprawling green space for outdoor instruction and athletics.

Union recently underwent extensive renovations, with an emphasis on equipping all classes with the latest technology and tools to facilitate instruction.  Union’s experienced staff leverage these classroom enhancements to provide the best educational opportunities for all of our scholars.

As a Cultural Center at GRPS, we offer specific programs and services that support our English Learners. Our goal is to ensure that our diverse scholar population feels included, valued, and supported. We understand that equitable education and compassion are the cornerstone to any successful institution, and we strive to bring that to our scholars and community every day.

Union has something for everyone!

Meet Our Principal

We have incorporated distance learning for years and are poised to be a leader in the district as a blended model of new technologies and old practices, giving our students the best of both worlds. Our 1-to-1 student technology device approach ensures that every student has the opportunity to learn inside and outside the classroom.
