Technology Support & Services
Scholar Technology
All GRPS scholars have a personal computing device that is available in school and to take home for schoolwork. Each school manages the check-in/out process for their scholars’ devices and provides assistance for malfunctioning, damaged, and lost devices. Most schools provide the following devices for scholars:
- PK through 1st grade: iPad
- 2nd through 12th grade: Chromebook
Other types of scholar devices not listed above may also be used in-school as warranted by curricular programming or for special education accommodations. For example, scholars participating in specific STEM or Fine Arts programming may use devices in school that are specifically designed to support specialized software or hardware.
Device responsibility guide for Scholars and Parents/Guardians are provided on this page.
Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD)
Some GRPS Middle or High schools allow scholars to bring their own device to be used in school. In these cases, such schools will define the guidelines about when and how such a device may be used. Schools will still require use of a GRPS computing device for certain applications such as online assessments.
Home Internet Access
GRPS provides no- and low-cost Internet options for all families with such needs in order to facilitate scholars using their device to perform schoolwork at home. Parents/guardians who have the need and wish to take advantage of this offering can do so by contacting their scholar’s school or the technology Helpdesk.
Learning Management Systems (LMS)
GRPS employs Learning Management Systems for scholars at all grade levels. Scholars are provided access to the LMS to assist in tracking schoolwork, course progress, grades, and activities. Teachers may require homework to be turned in via the LMS. Parents/Guardians are provided access to their scholar’s LMS accounts in order to maintain visibility to their schoolwork and provide guidance as necessary.
- PK through 5th grade (or 6th grade Montessori): Seesaw
- 6th through 12th grade (or 7th through 12th grade Montessori): Schoology
Access information for parents/guardians are sent home at the start of the school year, or can be obtained by contacting your scholar’s teacher, school office, or the technology Helpdesk.
Online Enrollment, Grades, and Attendance
Parent/Guardians can review enrollment and demographics information as well as official grade reports and attendance information by using the ParentVue app. Access to ParentVue is provided to the Parent/Guardian during initial enrollment.
