“GRPS Champions” is a web series published every Monday celebrating the incredible work of GRPS team members.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) -- Tonica Quinn thrives on the daily challenges of her role as Mailroom and Reprographics Coordinator at Grand Rapids Public Schools. Her passion for helping others and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately drives her work.

"I enjoy the challenge of getting things done efficiently and accurately," Quinn shares. "Whether it’s sorting mail or managing reprographics, I’m always picking up new skills. Helping others is something I love, and I’m always happy to lend a hand whenever it’s needed."

For Quinn, working at GRPS was a deliberate choice, one that aligns with her values of community and education.

"I chose to work at GRPS because I wanted to be part of a community-focused organization that truly values education. GRPS’s commitment to supporting students matches my passion for helping others and making a difference," she says.

Quinn also appreciates the opportunities for growth within the organization, adding, "I love that GRPS encourages continuous learning and offers chances for professional growth, which helps me improve both personally and in my career."

In her role, Quinn ensures that GRPS staff and scholars have the materials they need to succeed.

"I help both staff and students by making sure the materials teachers need are always available. My work with mail, logistics, and reprographics plays a part in supporting the whole educational process."

By managing these tasks internally, she helps ease the burden on staff, allowing them to focus on what matters most: education.

"I can take some of the load off the staff, so they don’t have to look for outside resources, making things smoother for everyone and contributing to students’ learning," Quinn explains.

Her dedication to the smooth operation of the district shows why she is a true GRPS Champion.
