GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) – Grand Rapids Public Schools will host a community information session to share plans for upcoming renovation projects at Houseman Field and Briggs Field.

The information session will be Wednesday, October 16, at 6 p.m. at GRPS University, 1400 Fuller Ave. NE. The session will include information about project timelines, the scope of work planned, and initial renderings.

"We invite our entire community to Reimagine GRPS with us," said Luke Stier, GRPS Director of Communications. "This event offers an opportunity to share updates on our upcoming projects and to listen to your valuable feedback."

The renovations at both Houseman Field and Briggs Field are scheduled to happen during the summer of 2025. The projects are funded by the Reimagine GRPS bond approved by voters in November 2023.

Houseman Field renovations will include a new track, new turf, new LED lighting, expanded parking, and upgrades to locker rooms. Briggs Field renovations will include a new track, field reseeding, bleacher upgrades, additional bathrooms, and fence and masonry upgrades.

Interpretation services will be provided at the information session.
