GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) -- At Blandford School, education is more than just academics -- it's about nurturing creativity, fostering passion, and cultivating a strong sense of community. That's a truth that Nick Maodush-Pitzer knows well.
Maodush-Pitzer’s decision to teach within Grand Rapids Public Schools was deeply influenced by his own experiences as a scholar in the district. He recalls his time at Shawmut Hills, Blandford, and City High Middle as formative years that shaped his outlook on education and life. Now, as a teacher, he’s giving back to the very community that played a significant role in his personal growth.
“The greatest impact I hope to make is to show students the possibilities of education through a new lens and help them see their own potential,” he says. Maodush-Pitzer strives to inspire scholars to discover their strengths and succeed in Blandford’s unique, creative, and academically challenging environment.
The most rewarding aspect of his role is the opportunity to guide scholars through meaningful projects and experiences that define the spirit of Blandford.
"My favorite part of my job is engaging my passions while teaching our amazing students," says Maodush-Pitzer. "Sharing these passions and guiding students through projects, events, and celebrations keeps me excited to come to work each day."
With his enthusiasm for teaching and dedication to scholar growth, Maodush-Pitzer continues to make lasting memories, contributing to the next generation of learners in GRPS.
