GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) -- Kent County voters overwhelmingly voted to approve the Kent ISD Regional Enhancement Millage.
The millage, first approved in 2017, provides funding to all schools in Kent County, including approximately $4.8 million annually to Grand Rapids Public Schools. The funds go directly into GRPS classrooms, helping pay teachers and counselors, offer dual enrollment opportunities, and provide high-quality curriculum materials for scholars.
Countywide, 63 percent of voters approved the millage. In Grand Rapids, the millage passed in all 59 city precincts.
“Our community showed up to support our children and their future," said Superintendent Dr. Leadriane Roby. "At a time when national conversations too often center on cutting education funding, we have chosen a different path - one that invests in opportunity and the promise of our next generation. Thank you for continuing to believe in our scholars."
