GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) – GRPS Family and Community Engagement (F.A.C.E.) is here to build a cooperative link between home, school, and the community. F.A.C.E.’s goal is to remove barriers that impede scholar growth and success.
Meet the team:
- Jennifer Williams, Director of Family & Community Engagement
- Kasey Young, Family & Community Engagement Facilitator
- Ben Cannon, Family & Community Engagement Coordinator
Williams, a longtime educator and principal at GRPS, now leads the district’s family and community engagement efforts.
“My goal is to make sure our caregivers feel empowered, connected, and supported every step of the way,” Williams said. “From organizing family workshops, to helping families navigate resources, to supporting schools and organizations at events, our team is here to support you in bridging the gap between home and school.”
Young attended GRPS and is thrilled to continue serving her community.
“As a former GRPS scholar, returning to the district to serve scholars and their families by connecting their caregivers to impactful community resources has been a dream come true,” Young explained.
Cannon is a GRPS alumnus and parent of two GRPS scholars.
“My goal is to empower families and caregivers, ensuring they have the tools and support they need to be active participants in their children’s education,” Cannon said.
