Character Education
- The District will maintain a listing of reviewed and recommended Character Education programs or curricula. Schools will select a program from the list. If schools desire to use a program not included on the list, the desired program can be reviewed by submitting to the area Executive Director for inclusion in the District's recommended list.
- To ensure that Character Education programs and practices address the unique needs of individual school communities, decisions regarding specific approaches will be made in collaboration with staff, parents/guardians, and the greater community.
- The selection of a Character Education program should involve parents/guardians and the community, either through the School Improvement Team or some other school-based process.
- Parents/Guardians will be informed of and oriented to the Character Education program each year, either through orientation, open house, or some other school-based process.
