School-Sponsored Information Media

The Superintendent shall be responsible for the content of all District newsletters, bulletins, and special publications and such other District-sponsored information media that he/she deems necessary.

Building Principals may publish and distribute a newsletter or other publication designed for the parent(s)/guardian(s) of that particular school.

Building administrators are encouraged to stimulate participation by the community at large in cooperative learning activities to make full use of learning resources in the community. Examples might be:

  • Develop Adopt-A-School programs and partnerships among schools and the community (businesses, industries, colleges, etc.)
  • Arrange for high school student internships at businesses and organizations, and in community service programs.
  • Invite prominent community leaders in business, service agencies, medicine, law, finance, engineering, and higher education to serve as “visiting lecturers” for classrooms at all levels.

Staff Involvement in Community

Employees of the District are urged to participate in community activities as a means of keeping current as to what is vital to the interests of the District and as a means of contributing time and resources to make the local community a better place to live.
