GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) -- The Union High School varsity girls soccer team won the Oakridge Invitational tournament on Saturday, with wins over Tri-County, West Michigan Aviation, and Oakridge.
"This group has fought hard and showed that anything is possible when everyone works together and has the same goal in mind," said Head Coach Juan Zavala.
Sophomore Vivian Guikema scored five goals and was named tournament MVP.
The team features scholars from City High Middle School, Grand Rapids Montessori Middle High School, Innovation Central High School, Southwest Middle High School, and Union High School.
