GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) -- Zoo School will be closed on Wednesday, January 8, due to unexpected water pressure issues affecting the building. The facilities team at John Ball Zoo is actively working to identify and resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

To minimize disruption to learning, Zoo School classes will be temporarily relocated to CA Frost Middle-High School on Thursday, January 9, and Friday, January 10.

All Zoo School scholars should arrive at Zoo School as usual on Thursday and Friday mornings. Dean Transportation will provide shuttle service between Zoo School and CA Frost, with the following schedule:

  • Morning shuttle departure from Zoo School to CA Frost: 8:15 AM
  • Afternoon shuttle departure from CA Frost to Zoo School: 2:50 PM

Additional GRPS staff will be present to assist scholars with boarding and riding the shuttle.

We are hopeful that the repairs at John Ball Zoo will be completed soon, allowing us to return to our regular classroom space in a timely manner. We will keep families and staff informed with any new updates.

All other GRPS schools will continue normal operations.
