GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) -- GRPS has earned national recognition for its storytelling, winning four 2025 Publication and Digital Media Excellence Awards from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA).
- The GRPS Principal Profile series (watch here) received an Award of Excellence in the Video Series category. The ongoing series introduces scholars, families, and staff to the principals leading GRPS schools, offering a personal look into their leadership and passion for education.
- The video spotlighting the Grand Rapids Community Teachers Initiative (watch here) also earned an Award of Excellence. This powerful piece highlights a groundbreaking partnership that allows GRPS scholars to begin working toward a teaching degree while still in high school, then attend Michigan State University tuition-free. The video features GRPS scholars and an MSU assistant professor discussing the program’s impact.
- A moving video celebrating the first graduating class of Southwest Middle High School Academia Bilingüe (watch here) was also recognized with an Award of Excellence. The video includes testimonials from Class of 2024 graduates reflecting on their experiences at GRPS’ newest high school.
- A feature showcasing CA Frost Environmental Science Academy scholars' participation in a statewide Detroit Lions art contest (watch here) received an Award of Merit. The video captures their imagination as scholars create Lions-themed artwork.
All four award-winning videos were created by Evan Linnert, GRPS Communications and Visual Content Manager.
