Welcome to Aberdeen Academy (PK-8)

I am pleased to serve as the principal of Aberdeen Academy. Our highly qualified teachers work with families to ensure the needs of scholars are met so they can learn and grow together. Aberdeen is a learning community where we help each other grow, then celebrate our attendance, behavior, and academic success together. Scholars have a voice in our school community and equity in success.

Are you interested in becoming a part of the Aberdeen community? Come visit our school and see if our school is the right fit for your scholar.

Aberdeen Academy offers a welcoming and inclusive environment for all scholars.

As a neighborhood school on the northeast side of Grand Rapids, we serve scholars in grades preschool-8. Aberdeen offers general and special education programming led by highly qualified teachers, our curriculum is aligned to current state standards, and our one-to-one student technology device policy ensures that every scholar has the technological tools they need to support their instruction. We are also a proud proponent of PBIS, and we use the S.O.A.R. acronym to capture the qualities we encourage in our scholars: Safety, Ownership, Achievement, Respect. At Aberdeen, you can be sure that your child will receive an education that soars above the rest.

As a district, we take pride in preparing our students for the real world by providing quality programs, enrichment opportunities, and more. To learn more about how Aberdeen supports every student in the classroom and beyond, schedule a tour today!

We have incorporated distance learning for years and are poised to be a leader in the district as a blended model of new technologies and old practices, giving our students the best of both worlds. Our 1-to-1 student technology device approach ensures that every student has the opportunity to learn inside and outside the classroom.
