A letter from Superintendent Dr. Leadriane Roby:

Thank you for your support throughout the 2023-24 school year. This has been a historic year for Grand Rapids Public Schools, and I am excited to share some of the remarkable milestones that highlight our progress.

This year we celebrated increased enrollment, record-high graduation rates, and the passage of a $305 million bond that will benefit all of our scholars and staff for years to come.

More than 2,000 of our talented artists showcased their work at the Citywide Art Show. We also opened a new recording studio and weight room at Ottawa Hills High School.

During graduation season we proudly celebrated 800 scholars receiving their diplomas, including the first graduating class from Southwest Middle High School.

A special shout-out goes to Mrs. Witkovsky's 5th-grade class at Aberdeen Academy. These scholars contributed to writing a bill that could designate Michigan's first state insect.

These highlights are just a glimpse of the incredible achievements happening every day at GRPS. I am immensely proud of our scholars and staff for all they have accomplished this year. The work to "Reimagine GRPS with Us!" is just beginning and I am grateful for your continued support and involvement.

We look forward to the exciting possibilities that the 2024-25 school year holds. Have a wonderful summer!

Sincerely,

Dr. Leadriane Roby
Superintendent
