Southeast Career Pathways is currently located at 1356 Jefferson Avenue SE. The alternative high school will relocate to a renovated space inside Sigsbee School, 1250 Sigsbee Street SE, starting in August 2025.
Renovations will include enlarging windows in classrooms to allow more natural light into learning spaces. Interior finishes will also be replaced, including new carpet, paint, and LED lights. There will also be improvements made to the HVAC system.
A new safe and secure entrance will be installed, leading to a new main office space. A new student commons area will be created near the main entrance, allowing space for scholars to collaborate. There will also be a new teacher collaboration space.
There will also be a new sign installed along Fuller Avenue and improvements to the parking lot to include resurfacing and improved site lighting.
The neighborhood park located behind the building will continue to be maintained by GRPS.
Construction is scheduled to start in Fall 2024 to be completed by July 2025.
Pure Architects created the designs using feedback from staff and scholars at Southeast Career Pathways and from neighbors who attended a community meeting in May.
