GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) – Grand Rapids Public Schools celebrated the first day of school Tuesday as thousands of scholars returned to the classroom.
The school setting was different for scholars this year as scholars were not required to wear uniforms following district leaders’ decision to sunset the uniform policy.
“What stuck out to me most though was the faces of our scholars,” Dr. Roby said in a video message following her visits to schools Tuesday. “They are happy to be back and they are ready to learn.”
