Ottawa Hills track star to run last race as a GRPS scholar at Saturday’s MHSAA Division 1 State Finals in Rockford

Grand Rapids, Mich. (GRPS) — Over 640 track participants from over 10 schools will participate in either the 1600m, 800m, and 3200m run bringing in some of the top middle and high school athletes to compete at the last track meet of the season.
Stand out track star and City High Middle School senior, Benne (BEN-uh) Anderson, will run for the last time as a member of the Ottawa Hills High School track team at Saturday’s MHSAA Division 1 State Finals in Rockford. As an accomplished athlete with numerous state championships, Anderson currently holds the top times in the state in the 800m, 1600m and 3200m. He is the 4th fastest in the nation in both the 1600m and 3200m. Anderson’s 800m run is also the 8th fastest time in the country so far this year.
Anderson’s passion for running and competing will not stop at Grand Rapids Public Schools as he plans to bring his ambitions and talents to the Syracuse University track team.
