GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (GRPS) — The 5th annual ‘Canoemobile Floating Classroom’ took place early May, allowing Grand Rapids Public Schools 8th grade scholars to enjoy outdoor activities, learn from nature, and practice teamwork from the waterway of the Grand River. Scholars paddled together in nine-passenger canoes encouraging a deeper connection with nature and each other.
Canoemobile is a program brought to Grand Rapids from Minnesota-based Wilderness Inquiry in partnership with Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation.
