On behalf of the Professional Learning Department, thank you for your continued dedication to our scholars and for the meaningful work you lead each day in service to our school communities. We deeply appreciate your commitment as we move through the second quarter of the school year.
Here are important Professional Learning updates and reminders:
Annual Professional Learning Full Day Course Validations for August 12-13 and November 4
Zoom Events Virtual Session Validation
- All virtual course validations have been completed.
- Staff must complete the reflection survey in KALPA for the course status to change from “Survey” to “Taken” as applicable.
- Contact the PL Department at pd@grps.org with any discrepancies or concerns.
In-Person Session Validation
- All in-person course validations have been completed.
- Staff must complete the reflection survey in KALPA for the course status to change from “Survey” to “Taken” as applicable.
- If a session does not appear or requires an adjustment in your PL plan, please contact the course facilitator first. If further assistance is needed, the Professional Learning Department is available to support you.
October 31, 2025, Vector Training PM ONLY
- Staff must complete all Vector modules by the deadline communicated by the HR department.
- The PL Department will collaborate with HR to validate staff PL Plans. Our goal to finalize all course validations before the Holiday Break.
SY 2025–26 GRPS Professional Learning Calendar
Below is a summary of the annual 30 hours of professional learning for SY 25–26, as outlined in the ratified GREA calendar:
Annual Professional Learning Days – 21 Hours
- August 12 – 6 hours (full day)
- August 13 – 6 hours (full day)
- October 31 – 3 hours (PM)
- November 4 – 6 hours (full day)
Annual Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) – 9 Hours
- 4.5 hours of school-planned PLCs (held in buildings)
- 4.5 hours of district-plannedPLCs, held virtually on:
- October 13 (1.5 hours)
- January 12 (1.5 hours)
- March 9 (1.5 hours)
The PL Department is working with KALPA system administrators to ensure these updated annual requirements hours are properly reflected in staff PL Plans.
