What types of bags WILL be allowed in school?

Currently, the ban is for any large-sized bag capable of concealing a weapon the size of a firearm. Small compacts to carry personal hygiene items will be allowed. Any bag allowed in may be subject to search.

Will clear bags be allowed?

At this point, we are not allowing clear bags. We are actively considering alternatives and will update our families on any changes.

What about my lunchbox?

A reasonably sized bag for lunch will be allowed. Any bag allowed in may be subject to search.

We expect the backpack ban to remain in effect through the end of the school year. Our team is engaged in enhancing our school safety protocols and the technology that supports them. We will update families as changes are made but it is our hope that we will be able to allow backpacks and book bags back into our buildings at a later time.

When does this ban go into effect?

The bag ban goes into effect immediately and will remain in effect at least through the end of the school year.

What about my musical instrument and case?

Students with musical instruments will be allowed to bring those instruments in their cases. Any bag or case allowed in may be subject to search.

What if I have a special circumstance?
